Miscellaneous Photos 2
In in early February of 2011, we were graced with the presence of "His Grace" the Bishop of the Diocese of Olympia...I guess the proper title is "The Right Reverend" Bishop Rickels. He was good enough to travel across the waters, braving wind, rain, and drop of sunshine, not to mention ferry fares, to deliver the Sunday morning homily.
It was nice to know that little ole St. David's of Friday Harbor was still in the loop and remembered, even though we are on the frontier of the diocese.
One important function of the Bishop is to receive new members of the Episcopal flock. Here Rich and Margaret are being welcomed by Rev. Doug with a wee gift. The Bishop stands ready behind them with his sheperd's crook (i.e. crozier) poised "at ready" in case the new sheep start to wander from the flock. Not much chance of that, Bishop, with these two. Now if they were baaaaaaptists, it might be different.
