Parishioners of St. David's are forced into the secular wilderness to seek out a temporary sacred space while their temple, er, sanctuary is being renovated. A temporary tabernacle, called the San Juan Benefit Player's Theater, was located nearby and, hopefully it will fit our needs. Here youth and parishioners parade down Guard St. to our new digs.
The moment of truth arrives. Will anyone show up to worship in a theater? Will they accept a theater set as a fitting place to have the Eucharist? Here a somewhat anxious priest, hands folded in prayerful anxiety is being gently guided (pushed?) toward the theater door. Not to worry, Mother Nancy. The place was packed and it was a joyful experience.
There is no turning back now. The Legions have arrived and the Great Temple is being "deconstructed". But out of its ruins will arise an even greater monument to the glory of God...with a mortgage to match. He-$-$-lp !!
After a day of ripping and tearing the workers have left for the weekend, leaving poor St. David's with a brown and blue plastic bandage covering the wounded head.
