Some of the interior work is "sweat equity." Here our master architect, Richard Hobbs, lends a hand by painting the ceiling of the stair well. He is balanced precariously on narrow planks over a 20 foot drop to the bottom of the well. Well done, Richard. (pun intended) The stairs to the sanctuary hopefully will be installed next.
Pictured here are a few of the other "sweat equity" laymen posing in the lower narthex. The "undercroft" area is the next area to receive the mandatory three coats of paint. Notice that their paint brushes and rollers are held at "port arms" ready to paint walls and/or intruders alike. Dar, one of the ladies, provided an important auxillary service by keeping the painters supplied with the necessary calories and nutrients to accomplish the job.
As the project nears completion, such mundane things as walkways needed to be poured.
...and a large staircase to carry people from the undercroft to the sanctuary need to be constructed...
...and a railing needed to be welded together and bolted into place.
