St. Francis Day and the Blessing of the Animals

The Blessing of the Animals begins as a circle of parishioners with their animals (real and virtual) gather together on a glorious sunny day. Officiating is Darlene and Steve (LEMs) in absence of Mother Nancy, who was called away to care for a daughter and a new wee grandchild.
Dogs big and small dominated the gathering of animals. There was a lot of joyous barking, sniffing, and an occasional growl. But all was peaceful with nary a bite.
Among the general mixed breeds were the aristocrates, exuding nobility. Here Skipper and Bo look on at the proceedings with proper decorum and dignity.
It took a little waving of all five arms to get the attention of the Blessed Blessers. Our local marine biologist, Craig, champions the world of invertibrates, making sure that they are not overlooked.
