| Father Leche, Vicar Emeritus of St. Davids, and Bishop Rickels shared pleasantries together before the ceremony begins. |

| The flock gathered, the trumpets blared, and the blessing of the church edifice began. It was a great moment. The congregation has returned from the Great Exile of the past year... a time when carpenters hammered, electricians wired, plumbers plumbed, and the rector, architect, vestry, and congregation gave time, tears, and tithes to bring the faithful back into the promised land (and building). |

| The Youth Choir sang their alleluias. Not a discordant note was heard. Well, just a few youthful notes slid off the requested pitch, but that just added a little more interest to the rendition. |

| The liturgical theater continued in the newly consecrated sanctuary. The liturgy was read. The homily was preached. Bishop Rickels admonished us to not preserve, but to"use up the building." The congregation prayed, "Please, Lord, let us pay off the mortgage before we do that." |

| Downstairs the table was set in artful preparation for the reception. A few minutes later it was declared a disaster area as youth and the not-so-young sparred to get their favorite goodies before it was all consumed. |

| The festivities continued in the undercroft. Nancy offered....champagne? Or was that apple juice? Whatever. All in all, a good time was had by all. |

| And even the newly "renovated" St. David blessed us in our newly renovated church. Praise be to God. |
