St. David's church loves having children in their services. Always know that we understand the not so quiet babies and a few loud whispers are part of having you with us. Because we know it is difficult to sit quietly for long periods, we provide children's activities during our second service.
1. Godly Play is a program we have adopted for our younger children. It is a storytelling program that allows kids to really think about the stories of the Bible and make connections to their own lives. We are excited about the quaility of this program and depth of thinking it encourages in our children. If you would like to learn more about this program try this link: www.godlyplay.org.
2. Monthly Family Nights: Families of St. David's come together to eat together and play. It is a fun way for us to get to know each other better and solidify relationships with our children. These will be announced on our monthly Calendar Page when the time is near.
3. Christmas Eve Service: One of our favorite events each year is our Christmas Eve Pageant. Children put this on themselves and you never know what might happen when the music starts. There are sheep, angels, shepherd and kings that make this event spectacular.
4. Other events: A Talent Show, numerous potlucks, a playset for playing after the service, loving adults and new friends makes St. David's a wonderful parish to visit and make into your church home.
We have a growing Youth Group for Middle School students and anyone in this age group is invited to participate in the activities listed.
1. Regular Sunday Morning Meeting: At 10:00 in the Gryphon Hall Teen Room, we meet for fun games, food, and spiritual development. You are sure to leave with new insights and stories to tell about the crazy games we tend to play. You will be accepted at St. Davids even if you yawn and have crazy bed-head hair.
2. Monthly Friday night gatherings: We meet monthly on a Friday evening for games, movies and other activities. It is usually the 3rd Friday from 7-9pm. Call the church office for this month's date.
3. Off Island trips: We have gone to Project Lifeline in Shoreline to prepare food for the homeless, Wild Waves, Camp Orkila and a Seattle homeless shelter. We usually plan about 3 trips a year and enjoy spending time together in other places.
4. Participation in services: We are always in need of acolytes, musicians, readers, assistants with younger children and ushers. Our youth are active participates in the 10:00am service and anyone interested in helping can find a place to do so. Call Amy (see below) if you would like to sign up.
