The Youth Page
Vacation Bible School had many activities for the younger set. What was the meaning of this activity? Perhaps making unleavened bread or simulating manna from heaven? Regardless of the meaning, it was an intensely enjoyable activity.
Enlightenment takes many forms. Here a spreading of hands and an estatic utterence espresses the delight of attaining esoteric knowledge. That ususally comes after the drudgery of work and intense concentration...as expressed by his neighbor.
Not everyone came to Bible school dressed in grubbies. Here a young lady poses in her finery that was duplicated in her doll's attire. Obviously she is pleased by her appearance.
Baptism takes on a slightly different perspective for middle school students. It's a little more vigorous and accompanied by noises resembling the of squealing of pigs or the squawking of crows.
Eating is a sacred activity for the middle schooler....and relaxing in the shade, of course. Nothing can deter the stomach from receiving its reward after the hard labor of decorating a 4th of July float.
Move over Pirates of the Carribean ! Here come the Pirates of Puget Sound, a blood thirsty crew determined to rob one of wealth and life. What happened to good ole Christian ethics here?
