Heather Mueller

Heather Mueller, Head Teacher

After receiving her Master’s in Education from Antioch University in Seattle, Heather moved to San Juan Island in 2007, teaching kindergarten and then second grade for ten years. She then taught adults meditation and art therapy, as well as becoming an affiliated counselor before joining St. David’s Day Sc\hool in 2021. Heather approaches teaching with an open heart to the uniqueness of every child, and building that relationship of trust and support for their learning – socially, emotionally, and academically.

Julliet Livingston

Julliet Livingston, Teacher

Julliet is a student at Skagit Valley College pursuing an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves working with children, watching their minds work, and having a great time with them. She looks forward to applying what she is learning in a classroom environment.

Doma Sherpa

Doma Sherpa, a multitalented educator and artist (singer) from Darjeeling, India, brings a unique blend of teaching expertise and artistic passion. With over 13 years of middle school teaching experience, Doma excels in creating engaging lesson plans, fostering supportive environments, and providing quality childcare. Holding a Master’s in Science (Zoology), Bachelor in Education, and Bachelor in Music (Indian Classical Vocal), Doma’s diverse skills span teaching, music, dance, singing, and childcare. Known for humility, dedication, punctuality, and enthusiasm, Doma seeks a challenging role leveraging her strengths.

Aubrie Wall

Aubrie Wall, Assistant Teacher

Aubrie is originally from Minnesota but moved to the San Juan islands in 2019. She loves reading in her free time and also loves to go on adventures with her dogs. She loves teaching young minds and can’t wait to learn more about how she can help the kids grow.

Margaret Barker

Margaret Barker, Founder

Saint David’s Day School owes its existence to Margaret’s vision, experience and perseverance. Although she has now retired from the classroom, she continues to be closely involved with the governance of the school, and serves as a supervisor and mentor to our teaching staff.

Margaret came to us with more than twenty years of experience teaching Kindergarten at The Lexington School in Lexington, KY and fourteen additional years teaching at the preschool level. Mrs. Barker has been a presenter at local, state, and national NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) conventions. Margaret and her husband have been residents of San Juan Island since 2006.
